Bio
One memory, a life changing moment, that’s all it took. Alison is dedicated to the art of flutistry. Her sound can be described as full bodied yet sweet and breathy; she knows how to command a stage and takes pride in helping her audience feel the emotions behind each piece of music she performs. Alison’s teachers always stressed performing a piece as being just as important as mastering the flute’s technical challenges.
As a flutist, Alison’s goal is to change the way every day society views the flute. Although an accomplished classical musician, Alison much prefers surprising her audiences by contributing her sound to spiritual music, folk, rock, jazz, and performance art pieces.
Now living in Boston, Massachusetts, Alison continues to expand and improve her skills as a performer and teacher as a Master of Arts candidate specializing in music therapy in Lesley University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. You can see her regularly performing as a member of the Kirtan band Santosha and accompanying spiritual services. She also collaborates regularly with other musicians and artists to put on art events that enrich the local community.
